Canister Filter

Does it make sense to have a canister filter on a 16 gallon aquarium?

I have never used canister filters before but have heard they do a better job of filtering an aquarium than HOB filters. I have a small aquarium (16 gallons) would it be a good idea to install a small canister filter on there or should I just get a HOB filter?

I doesn’t make sense to get a large one made for larger tanks. However the Rapids Canister Filter C-80 is smaller and used for tanks up to 20 gallons in size.

For a 16 gallon though a HOB would be fine. It just depends on what you want (and want to spend lol).
