Compact Light
Why is apparent light output of a compact flourecent bulb less than an incandescent?
I replaced some 100W incandescent bulbs with recommended compact flourescent. The package gave a higher lumens rating than the rating on a regular incandescent 100W bulb. After installing, the apparent light output was much less. Why is this so?
I have found this to be true also. My only guess is that its a different kind of light that were not used to. Its kind of along the same way that a paint sample looks different under every kind of light.
